ŠRÁMY / DĚTI Z BAKELITU (Bakelite's Children)
Cie Pieds Perchés
Stéphanie Nyota NDuhirahe continues her project ŠRÁMY with a second part entitled
Bakelite's Children.
What is remembrance?
What do we and what do our bodies retain from different life stories?
How is the history of pain passed on from generation to generation? How can we talk about this pain?
In the first part of the project, La débattue, the artist explores her family's history, asking questions about the visible and invisible traces that certain historical events have left on her.
Bakelite's Children is also based on interviews, this time with people who were around 10 years old at the time of the Velvet Revolution. The artistic team is interested in the perspective of people on the threshold of adulthood, already able to form their own opinion of the world and perhaps not yet burdened by adult life experiences or social conventions. The link between the first and the second part of the ŠRÁMY project is the process of healing and recovery through conversation and sharing.
Bakélite's Children is an experimental collage created through the composition of various artistic forms. It combines elements of sound and video installation, which are activated by movement and acrobatic performances, and is accompanied by live music.
